I have also been using the cut and paste method. I have encountered the problem on eBay, Youtube, Wikipedia which is really annoying since I use that site almost daily, and only since doing the upgrade to 7.2 I've encountered it on Amazon, though I haven't had it happen from too much time out of browse mode only when deleting a typo. There have been a few others but not sites I use regularly enough to recall. I do not experience the problem on Google, Bing or any other search engine I've tried so far.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP 3 with a dual core Pentium CPU at 2.0 Ghz per core with 1 Gb of DDR2 RAM, an ATI Radeon 1600 PCE video card with I think 512 Mb of video RAM and an onboard sound card.

I think that this issue is tied with the issue of constant reloading websites like CNN, Foxnews and other such sites and half loading sites that finish loading and jump you back to the top once you hit a certain point down on the page like Amazon for most annoying. It gets tiring using the copy and paste method for edit boxes, using the copy and paste method to read articles from pages that won't stop jumping you back to the top every few lines and being jumped back to the top of the page just as you find and start reading the product description or reviews on Amazon. I've tried all sorts of things in hopes of getting the problems to go away including removals and reinstalls, adjusting the cache, my Firefox cache is something like 8 Gb right now, I even just tried out an optimizer, Auslogics I think all to no avail.

I really believe that the issues can be fixed. The upgrade to WE 7.1 fixed them with Firefox 3.5, but they returned with Firefox 3.6 and no updates of either WE or Firefox have fixed them since. I really hope they can be fixed soon. The release of 7.2 has fixed a lot and seems to have made WE faster and more stable for me. If I could get rid of these other issues, a lot of my PC frustrations would go away.

Regards,

Chris

Another, albeit cumbersome, trick is to type into Notepad the text you want to put in one of those pesky edit boxes, copy it to the clipboard, the go to the edit box, turn off browse mode and paste.

I only run into this issue, so far, at amazon, ebay and occasionally facebook.

hi, this has been a issue with firefox for a wile. i am using firefox 3.6 and the only work around so far is turn autoload off. thats what gw. told me. because if not then you can only type like 1 maybe 2 letters at a time in the search box and it kicks you right out.
