Hi, I agree with you in that having to have a second screen reader on hand is not an efficient way to work. Sadly, it is true. I use Window eyes myself and had to install Thunderbird when my Outlook quit working. I should say here that after re-installing Office I have Outlook working again and use Thunderbird only as a backup client.I discovered WE would not read everything in Thunderbird and after some research, found, as you did, there was no resolution available from GW Micro. So I downloaded NVDA and sometimes I will have to close WE, launch NVDA, then close NVDA and launch WE to resume. I don't try to run them at the same time as it becomes too noisy... grin... I have tried just using NVDA but while it will read some things WE will not read, it is not, for me, nearly as productive as WE in the "big picture".
It is also worth noting there are applications other than Mozilla's that WE has trouble with and where NVDA can help. I switched from JAWS (which I understand does NOT have any issues with Mozilla products) about seven years ago for purely economical reasons) and can honestly say that even if someone were to give me a fully licensed, free copy of JAWS, I probably would only use it as a supplement to WE, much like I use NVDA. I do wish however, the good folks at GW Micro would address these issues we (no pun intended), face with Mozilla products.
