Pat,
You don't need the install.bat file. Assuming you've unzipped the
contents of the nfbtrans file to a folder on your hard drive, just run
nfbtrans.exe. If you don't specify any command-line arguments, then a
console window will open that asks you a series of questions to
accomplish what you want to do.
The other translators I mentioned are free, though I haven't used Turbo
Braille in many years and have little experience with the xml2brl
application.
An anonymous gentlemen wrote a Windows front-end to nfbtrans called
WinTrans some years back. His website no longer exists, but you can
download the installer from
http://www.blind-computing.com/braille/programs/winbt.exe. I've used it
before, and it suits my occasional braille translation needs.

Okay you mentioned something about Turbo Braille, where can I find it?
Do any of these work under Windows Seven? I can't get NFB Trans to run
at all. It doesn't do anything when I hit enter on the install.bat file.

open-source liblouis libraries works well also. A quick Google search
