Given the futuristic and purely speculative nature of this post, I'd say
it's time for a serious reality check.
Windows 7 is only in its infancy. So it will probably be at least a few
years before Windows 8 comes out. And rumors are easy. Even if Microsoft is
considering incorporating a screen-reader into Windows 8 it will no doubt
take the same route VoiceOver took on the Apple. Sure, if all a computer to
you is using it out of the box to surf the net, email, and use the few other
programs included with the operating system you'll be in like Flynn. But
look how long VoiceOver has been out and how difficult it has been to get
developers to either re-write the real software they've been developing for
years or more or less re-write it in another way to get VoiceOver to
integrate with it in a truly functional manner. Many companies have made the
usual just enough to say they're working on it efforts to give Apple users a
hint of access to real programs. And few of them have even gotten the
accessibility back on par with the now defunct third party Apple
screen-reader.
So I have a hard time seeing what the point is in discussing what a PC may
be in 10 years as far as accessibility goes. It means nothing to me today
and won't for a long long time. This is nothing more than speculation on the
personal computer in general. We can talk about it all day, but it has no
real meaning because we have no real knowledge or even a clue as to what
will actually happen. It's akin to trying to foresee one's future in the
stars.
So I'll leave my crystal ball, robe, and candles in the closet for now and
live in real time.

Personally, if that was the case, I wouldn't pay GW Micro the money
needed to be a customer of there mailing program. I don't believe that
GW Micro should have to design a "Mailing" program, just because the
"Users" demand it of them.
As a previous posting stated, don't go after GW Micro for the
incompitance of Microsoft.
I would believe that throwing in a mailing program is pointless.
What I suggest is that you use something that you can use like
Thunderbird or something.
Raul did a nice tutorial with Thunderbird and Window-Eyes recently.
There is also Microsoft Outlook, wich Window-Eyes works with, if you
have the Office suite of products.
If you don't, I'm sorry.
But why should a screen reading program put a mailing program in it?
I do not think that is a major feature.
Rewriting of browse mode is far more chritical than your tiney mailing
program.
Also, I am hearing rumers that Microsoft intends to put an intagrated
solution onto Windows Eight.
This will mean that GW Micro.com will die, along with every other
screen-reader in existance.
What do you users think about this possibility?
This is not a confirmed thing, but you surely do realize that this
would mean the death of Window-Eyes.
