David,

This is a limitation of SAPI synthesizers in general. Windows does not allow us to set the output of SAPI synthesizers, whereas we have more direct control over DECTalk and Eloquence.

True, you have to do the SAPI change in the control panel. Honestly, I never
understood why GW did not let the SAPI voices have the same chance of changing
from within WE itself. True, in general, there is no need to invent the wheel
all over. So, if you can do the setting in Windows itself, why bother having WE
do the job. Yet, in cases like this, I think it might serve more as a basis for
confusion and frustration, that one voice can be redirected from the WE control
panel, whilst the other one will have to be redirected from Windows. To most
users, the voice is connected to WE, and hence the only logic would be, that it
can be controlled from WE directly. After all, you don't have to go to the
Windows control panel, so as to adjust volume and speed, even for the SAPI
voices. So then, why this strange thing about not being able to select sound
card, for the SAPI voices right there in the WE panel?

this only works with the decaccess32 synth.
the sapi voices can not be changed within w e. you would have to go into the
control panel and sounds options to change to another sound source.(u s b or
sound card)

     hi,
open the window-eyes program with control back slash.
now open the file menu with alt+f.
now open the select synthesizer dialog with the letter by.
now press alt+r to move to the sound card option. select the card you want
to use and press enter. now window-eyes will send your software speech
output to the selected card tell such time as you change it.
here is an idea I think we need an option to send window-eyes sounds to
     other devices as well.
this way I can have my synthesizer use one card and my sounds use the other
make them the same if I like or just use the default card for both.
also it would be nice if window-eyes sounds did not interrupt one another.
for example I have the progress bars script and the second glass script
installed. progress bar sound should interrupt one another that is the
whole point but second glass should not interrupt progress bars. both
     sounds should be played together.
