So John using this principle gw should also stream every conference to the
list because for example at CSUN information is shared before we get it also
sometimes at conventions information is shared prior to the list getting it.
In fact since tweets are to followers "friends" loosely used in social network
terms every time a gw staff member has a discussion with a friend concerning
anything related to gw micro the list should be informed.
One central location for information works in some situations but isn't
practical in others.
A business uses a variety of methods to interact with customers and promote
product usage.
Even in major league sports they provide information on facebook and twitter
not available at the team website or in the team news letter.
I know this firsthand having read tweets from the NBA and from the NLB Dodgers
and Lakers especially in my experience.
Other computer companies and computer advisors act simiarly.
Check out Kim comando website, newsletter, facebook and twitter and you will
see what I mean.

  Hi Aaron,

I am sorry, but I will publically disagree with your stance here.

Up until this point I have always thought of the GW-info list as a single
point for all Window-eyes information of interest.

While I accept that you may believe that some of the info you post to twitter
may not be of high importance, it may well be of interest to some of us who do
not tweet.

As I say, I like the principle of single point for information. It makes
keeping up to date so much easier.

I cannot keep up to date on info if you may sometimes post it to twitter,
face book or whatever the latest fashion might be.

Let's please get back to first principles as far as data is concerned.

  Thank you.

  Regards, John.

  John Farley

If you don't use Twitter, that's fine. No one expects you to. But you also
lose out on the information being presented through our Twitter feeds. That's
just how it works. If you don't use it, you don't get the information. As I
mentioned, if something is really important, we post to all of our lists. This
was not that important.

Come on, Aaron. It only takes a second to send your tweet to the list. I am
another who doesn't want to mess with Twitter and I don't want the RSS feed
either. We're not all into social networking.
