Bud,
You didn't say which speech synthesizer you are using, DECtalk, Eloquence,
or something else. I suspect that will make a difference since each
synthesizer treats some letter combinations differently. My entry for
DECtalk is verreyeson, which is similar to another suggestion I saw.

This is a small matter but has anybody figured out a way of making wineyes
pronounce verizon correctly? I've tried various ways of spelling it but
can't seem to figure out one that sounds like it should.
