That's the nature of technology. Everybody wants to know what is coming
next. However, whether it is too early to discuss Windows 8 or not depends
on your definition of early. I know it seems like Windows 7 is still brand
new, but 8 is supposed to be released sometime next year and has already had
at least two developmental versions leak out onto the internet, so while it
still has room for a lot of changes, it is not really that far off and it is
likely that Microsoft is already doing work with a lot of third party
companies that work with them when a new version is on its way. Now as to
whether or not anyone working with Microsoft can say much without tripping
over an NDA is another matter.

Chris

O boy, here we go again!
Just ask them about Windows 9 as well, let us get it out of the way as well
while we are at it.
