I think it was Shannon who originally asked about the benefits of upgrading to
a Win 7 64 bit laptop.

If it was me, I would stick with what I have for now and wait until Windows 8
is released at the end of 2011 or early 2012.
There's no point upgrading to Windows 7 when it's already due to be replaced
soon.
Plus, if you read the reviews of Windows 8 the new accessibility features will
be worth waiting for.

Tom.

  Hi Sunshine,
As far as I know there is no set time line. As lone as you have a 32 bbit
machine and the programs that work with it. Things will continue to work. The
thing is is that when a new cd ripper comes out in 64 bit that is really cool,
guess what with a 32 bit machine you can’t use it. Like I said your 32 bit
programs will run as normal on a 64 bit os. As things progress there will less
and less 32 bit programs that you can buy. Doesn’t it make sense to buy a
machine that will work with both than a machine that is limited to only one of
the two. The way you use window eyes with the 32 is the same as the 64. Some
programs may have a different command than another but, that just learning a
new program.
You know what they say: “The more things change, the more they stay the same”.
