Several weeks ago I wrote to this list asking about trouble I was
having, and am still having, installing the extra MS text to speech
synthesizers from the WE install disk.
I never heard back.
I wonder why that is?
Am I completely alone?
Is there no answer at all?
To reiterate: I have two win7 machines on which I have installed
WE 7.5 subsequently upgraded to 7.5.1.
WE works just fine.
However, I cannot install the extra ms voices on the GW install
disk under advanced options.
I can select them, and click install.
AAfter that, the CD spins for a bit then nothing.
In fact, the window becomes unresponsive.
Nothing gets installed but no error is generated.
In fact, the window often is completely unreadable by WE.
Or, it dumps me back to the same screen from which I can choose to
try it over again.
I have other win7 machines on which I installed WE 7.2 where the
extra voices installed fine and indeed still work after WE was upgraded.
So, what is going on here?
I have two new machines and both of them simply refuse to allow
the sapi voices to be installed?
And, Anna works fine, such as it is.
