Try maximizing the window, that helps sometimes. Of course, redrawing the
screen also is worth trying.
Also, and this may vary from operating system to operating system, be sure you
understand how the rename
box works. As I understand it, after you press F2, the whole name is selected.
 If you start out by
selecting part of the name, you may get results different than you expect. You
might find that pressing
a navigation key such as HOME, END, or LEFT or RIGHT ARROW first will help.

unfortunately, the problem still

file name to delete in OE,
but not in Windows explorer. Just seems odd to me. I'll check the sys tray to
see if there is
something waiting for me down there.

find that a particular program or app might temporarily conflict with some task
I wish to do. In my
case, the task manager is very prone to blocking speech in edit boxes. Also,
if you happen to have
updates waiting to be installed, this can cause unusual behavior. Aparently,
there are some type of
pop-up windows that take away part of the screen from Window-Eyes.

anyone has an explaination of why my reinstalltion does not allow me to do
this. It's like if I
installed windows xp, and the run dialog box diddn't work. Yes, I could get to
my drives and folders
using My computer, but Windows xp isn't supposed to work that way.

emails are from recipe
listservs, so they have the listserv's name at the beginning of the file name.
If I am still in OE, I
can select the portion of the filename using the control shift right arrow key
combo and WE speaks what
is being selected. But if I forget to do this, and save the file to my hard
disk, and later open window
explorer, and hit the F2 key to rename the file, and do the same key combo, WE
does not read /speak the
portion being selected. I had to reinstall WE 7.2 a week ago because I removed
an app and WE started
throwing errors at me. I tried to submit the error to GWmicro, but that froze
my computer solid.
