Hello Chip and all,

Folder filtering is a wonderful thing and is something I do as I'm on many
lists. This filtering is also useful if you have more than one E-mail
account which I do.

Have never tried filtering by conversation.

And also, just as useful as filtering messages directly into folders is the
use of grouping into "threads" or "conversations". This is especially nice
for those who don't have time to constantly read the list, as you can come
back some time later, and decide to read all the replies at once for a given
conversation, or press the delete key just once and not have to read any of
them. It really helps counter the argument that we'd be overwhelmed by
messages, as it makes deleting many messages at once so easy. But it's not
really possible unless you filter these messages into their own folder
first, as you likely won't want your inbox done this way.
