Hi list, I can't remember if I asked this before, but I'm curious, what is the measurement unit for the speech rate slider? I know it's a percentage from 0 to 100, but is that in some sort of multiple of words per minute? Also, if one speech synthasizer can talk extremely fast at 100 percent, why does another seem slower? For example, my elequence is set to 80 percent when I read a document using the read to end command, but my decktalk voice if I use it is set at 95. They are different synths, I understand that, but what's the base algurythm for determining the rate?

does that make sense?
