Yeah, I experienced this too. I'd suggest a fallback check so that if it can't connect with the server it will accept a system check of a Window-Eyes installation. Perhaps you're checking the validity of the installed Window-Eyes as well. And I do understand that. But it is quite annoying for those of us who aren't used to it.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Tom

I wonder if its necessary for gwconnect to check with the server every
time it starts -- I can see it may want to check for updates, but that
activation key, seems to me it could check with its local WindowEyes
instead.

Greetings,

Our ISP went down over the weekend and, unfortunately, this was an
unintended consequence. GW Micro service has been restored, and you
should again be able to use GWConnect ad-free as you did before. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are looking
into possible solutions to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Regards,
Steve

Hi all

I have the current version of Window-Eyes and, GW Connect used to
come up just fine. Suddenly, I get the ad about publicising the
program, "visit Website", and an OK button. It seems that GW
Connect has forgotten that I own W-E. How do I remind it?
