I've seen this for a long time and never commented on it because I never
heard anyone else do so. For me it's with a DecTalk USb and there's no
pattern to it that I can see. It doesn't happen frequently so I just
redraw the screen to reinitialize the synth and go on my merry way.

Betcha a cold cheeseburger he's using Eloquence. This may well be an
Eloquence issue specifically if it's what I think it is. We see the same
behavior in System Access and only with Eloquence.

Brice,
When you have Windows Mail open, bring up Window-Eyes and go to the
Screen node of the settings tree. Tab through the voice options and
make sure that everything there is set to global. If the problem
continues, try disabling apps and see if that has any impact.

I've brought up this problem before and didn't hear from anyone with a
result. When in Windows Mail, in the list view in the in box my screen,
keyboard, and mouse rate is set about 70. This doesn't happen every
time, but once I open a message, close it and delete it, the speech rate
drops to default speed. In order to fix this, I do insert backslash and
the screen rate is okay until I open another message. has anyone else
experienced this? Windows Vista, wineyes, both up to date.
