No, Both auto load and browse mode are both on. I found it will read if I turn browse mode off and back on.

just a guess, but did you maybe disable the autoload feature where
window-eyes speaks the page when it loads? browse mode is still a bit
buggy and I'm sure the staff is working hard on it but...hmm, that's odd.
