I personally set up windows hosting or linux hosting. So far those I trial, tested with tomcat linux or windows, both are working fine either windows RDP or linux putty ssh access. Of course, linux is the best approach to my opinion as its working from the scratch up with putty. Its working with window-eyes and no need someone to help you to install the video drivers on windows remote machine. In the end, It really depends what kind of access you will be given to the VPS itself. -------------------- regards Thomas N. I am thinking of building a Website and picking either a quality shared host or an inexpensive VPS provider. I prefer working in Visual Studio and using ASP.net and Sql Server or Sql Server Express or even the new SQL CE but would consider switching to a lamp system if that is a more accessible option. The Web-Based Control Panels sound like WE may work with those providers but the whole idea of manageing an entire network is a little daunting if there would be accessibility issues along with management of the Windows Platform or Windows Server OS, the IP configurations, IIS and the Database Management complexities. I played with RDP some time ago and had no luck so will avoid that unless I get a new machine and get rid of XP. I know Kate was taking a class, or classes, in network management so perhaps she has some experience with a VPS. Also, what about you other guys and gals? What do you use for building Websites that work well with WE? I am inpatient when it comes to waiting for downloads so performance is an important factor in any choice I will make. Rick USA
