Warren,

Nothing has changed regarding Eloquence. Meaning it still ships with 8.0 and can be used by those upgrading and those purchasing new. Again, no change what-so-ever regarding Eloquence. Not sure how this rumor started.

I asked because the person I originally responded to said that they had
heard that eloquence was not being shipped with Window-Eyes starting with
8.0. I just wanted to clear the air because I wasn't sure. Thanks to all who
responded.

Here's text from the WE 8.0 readme that discusses synthesizers.

* New copies of Window-Eyes 8.0 now ship with the Nuance Vocalizer speech
synthesizer instead of DECTalk Access 32. Customers upgrading from previous
Window-Eyes releases will still have access to DECTalk, but a license must
be purchased in order to use Vocalizer. Similarly, new Window-Eyes 8.0
customers who wish to use DECTalk Access 32 will need to purchase a license
for that synthesizer. For more information, please visit
www.gwmicro.com/voices. Note that both versions include the Eloquence
synthesizer.
(end of readme text)
I really don't understand the confusion. GW has never stated in any
communication that Eloquence Window-Eyes is being dropped. Since you have
WE 7.5X your copy will include DecTalk authorization. If you want Vocalizer

as well you can purchase the authorization.

So both Eloquence and Dectalk are no longer being shipped with Window-Eyes?
Or just Dectalk. I'm asking because I'm going to be upgrading to Windows7 or
8 in the near future and I know the SAPI Eloquence is not supported on these
later systems. Thanks in advance,

Warren

yes you can, along with the vocalizer voices, which cost $39.00 for all the
English voices, some of which aren't available just yet. but don't worry,
you can still run all the regular voices you're used to.

Hello if you have an old copy of we can you just place we 8 over 7.5
and hope not to lose the eloquence voices as well as the dec acces
voice as I hearthat the voice are no longer on the cd. So I am
wondering if we upgrade from now on and if we don't have eloquence or
dec acces how aare we to access these two just a bit concerned since I
have used eloquence for over 20 years, and I have already gotten a
customed to those voice and some times the Nuance vocalizer aare bit
hard to understand since I have them on my new Plex Talk PT 1 and I
have sandy and tom on that system sometimes when it comes to hard
stuff it hwill have a hard time pronouncing and so that is why I want
to stil use the synthesizer of my preference whether that be dec acces
, eloquence or if I have something else like acapella or the Kurzweil
human sound voices I can use those as well. So I would appreciate it
if some one could confort my concerns that eloquence will always be
there and then we can have the choice with the other tts engines. I am
hoping that is the situation. If you reply to this message it will be
