Stats:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Window-Eyes 8
IE8 as default browser
Firefox as secondary browser (when IE refuses to work, grin)
Thunderbird as email client
Situation:
For about a week, I can not open links or shortcuts to the internet if
Thunderbird is running. In looking at the task manager, I find multiple
occurrences of IE running. To open IE, I must close those occurrences,
copy the link I want, if it is in an email, close TB and then open IE
manually and paste in the link. About the only thing that has changed
is that I used to have FF as the default browser. But, for some reason,
I can now use flash and Java in IE, which I could not do before, and
they are not working in FF. So, since IE has better functionality, I
changed it to the main browser. Unfortunately, I can't do a simple
click on a link or a desktop shortcut. Does anyone have any ideas about
what I might have done to cause it to stop working properly?
Thanks and Merry Christmas for those of us celebrating.
