Hi, all. I mentioned this issue in an earlier post, and I haven't received a response as of yet. I thought I would explain the issue in more detail, however.
I received my Window-eyes 8.0.0 cd this past Saturday. Since I was running the previous beta 2 under Windows 8 and had to upgrade from the cd, I waited for the cd to arrive like a lot of us, grin. Anyway, I tried installing Window-eyes 8.0.0 from the cd and it wouldn't install. It appears my dvd/rw drive has failed so I'm waiting for a replacement under warranty thank goodness, grin. At the suggestion of one of the list members, I copied the cd to a thumb drive and installed Window-eyes from there. Some of the apps didn't install properly so a restart of the computer was required. Now, whenever I press the start menu key under Windows 8 after the full install of Window-eyes 8.0.0, the start menu key no longer speaks. I unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in and still no go. Sorry for the long message, but Gw Micro asks for details, grin. Thanks. Mike M.
