Hi, Manny. Ever since I purchased a Dell Xps-8500 desktop computer with Windows 8 64 bit edition, I have been having the following issue with the startup sound.

After the computer has been shut down over night, when I turn on the computer the computer boots up and the startup sound does not play. However, Window-eyes 8.1.0 comes up talking and the computer boots to the desktop. However, if I restart the computer, the startup sound plays, Window-eyes comes up talking, and the computer boots to the start screen.

All of this being said, would your suggestion to John to delete Sound Blaster, or in my case, Real Tech, correct the issue? Should I try to follow the same steps provided to John? Thank you.
