Ok. I don't want to mess anything up. The Windows 8 startup sound is
not enabled by default, and that is one of my pet peeves of Windows
8. How would I enable a startup sound if Windows 8 already has its
default startup sound.
Since this is one of those situations where I don't feel comfortable
changing things, I am providing my phone number. I do have unlimited
long distance so calling is not an issue. Should you decide to call,
please follow the prompts because you will hear a no solicitation
message as well as a one number service message.
My phone number is: (719) 542-3419.

Hi, Manny. Ever since I purchased a Dell Xps-8500 desktop
computer with Windows 8 64 bit edition, I have been having the
following issue with the startup sound.
After the computer has been shut down over night, when I turn on
the computer the computer boots up and the startup sound does not
play. However, Window-eyes 8.1.0 comes up talking and the
computer boots to the desktop. However, if I restart the
computer, the startup sound plays, Window-eyes comes up talking,
and the computer boots to the start screen.
All of this being said, would your suggestion to John to delete
Sound Blaster, or in my case, Real Tech, correct the issue?
Should I try to follow the same steps provided to John? Thank you.
