I also have the same experience. I often need to kill we to regain speech but there is often no error to send.. I find that on a regular basis that we and windows help and office help do not play nice with each other. This is a brows mode problem. Every program in my office arsenal has a problem with WE 8.1 and my win 64 machine. I was running all the same programs on an XP machine with WE 8.0 and was haveing most of the same issues, so I blamed the old hard ware but now I don't know what was the real problem? Shannon
