Hello all
the problem with Remote Assistance is that either party needs to forward
the appropriate ports to their router. Not everybody has the skills to
do this. Everything was working until an update to Window-Eyes 7.5x, and
hasn't been fixed yet. I'm not saying it is a bug, but if you look at
the other Remote Assistant solutions out there, dare I say Jaws Tandem
is one example, do not require either party to forward ports to their
router.
So I am just as frustrated as you are, as one reason I purchased
Window-Eyes was that; to take advantage of their new remote assistant
solution. Now I cannot do this anymore, at least easily.
Sorry for the rant.
Chris.

Hi Everyone:
Ok great folks, I need your help in learning to use the Window-Eyes
Remote Access. Before my trillion questions, here's what I had tried to
do:
1. I launched the Remote Access
2. I pressed <enter> on Ask for Help; the first link is "Send Help
Request".
3. I pressed <enter> on "Send Help Request" provided the password
generated to my helper, but we were unable to connect the two computers!
4. I went back, pressed <enter> on Alternate Help Request, provided the
password generated to my helper, again, no dice!
5. Went back again and, this time, I pressed <enter> on Offer Help,
typed in my name, but had NO idea what to do in the password field. For
example, I did not know whether the password should be alphanumeric or
strictly numbers.
Somewhat frustrated, I thought I'd ask here. And now that you have a
general idea of what I tried to do, here are a few questions:
A. How is connection established when using either "Send Help Request"
or the "Alternate Help Request" in the Ask for Help window?
B. How does "Offer Help" work?
C. How would I know when connection has been established and control of
my computer has been fully transferred over to my helper?
Much thanks for all help as I trust that your invaluable answers will
enable me get this down to some kind of a science <smile>!!
Sincerely,
Olusegun
