Hi Peter,

I guess, and this is not necessarily my opinion per se, that 50 bucks a year
seems a high price to pay when there are free apps for Android and iPhones
that are extremely accessible that would do all that Socialize can do.

My own situation is that I am covered on the phone, so I don't need PC
access to Facebook, but some folks evidently do. Phone apps are also so
much cheaper nowadays than annual subscriptions. Friendcaster for Android
is an example, it costs a one-off price of about £3.00 UK pounds or about
$5.00 US dollars. It is quite an accessible Facebook app for Android and
will do I think all that SE does including keyword filtering. SO there has
to be seen to be value for money in everything nowadays and I guess some
people would find it expensive. Again, I don't necessarily say it's
expensive myself, but the perception of free or very cheap apps isn't going
to go away any time soon. I don't really know the answer, as GW have to
make a living, but this is just thinking aloud kind of thing. I wonder if
20 bucks a year would have hit the sweet spot and got more buyers?

All the best

Steve

Subject: SocialEyes; Whiners Go Away!

Hello GW Staff and Listers,

I don’t get it! What is all the whining about? This is a great benefit to
those who are sociable and wish to participate on FaceBook. A modest yearly
registration fee of $50.00 does not seems too unreasonable – it costs that
much for my wife and I to go to the local movies twice.

Of course, there are folks who will find $50 hard to come by, but perhaps a
monthly or quarterly payment plan might be considered by GW Micro. The point
is: access to the dominant social network is certainly a development to
cheer about. (Over a billion people around the world would probably second
that sentiment.)

Myself, I find (so far) FaceBook, Twitter, etc. to be a big waiste of time;
but a billion people apparently disagree with me.

Please remember that FaceBook is constantly in flux, and payments are no
doubt necessary to keep SocialEyes up-to-date and fully functional.

Keep up the great innovation, GW!
