Good morning,

I have asked this before but no one has answered

I have a program now that will convert the pdfs into a word document. It is
Omni page or Nuance converter. I can't tell exactly which part of this is
actually doing the conversion.

I - the company now receive all fax transmissions through the all in one
copier, fax machine, scanner as pdf files. They are deposited in a folder on
the shared drive of the company. I need to have the Omni page program to
convert all the fax files that are delivered as pdf files. Into word to be
able to read them and distribute them.

I have Word defaulted as the program to open a pdf.

Now when I receive a pdf attachment in my email program the outlook enhanced
app refuses to allow word to open and convert the file. The outlook enhanced
app reports that there is no program associated with this file type.

This is not correct since I know that I have defaulted word to open all pdf
files.

I have no choice through the app to tell it what is the program to use to
open the file attachment.

What can I do.

As it stands I have to go back and change the default program to open pdf
files in Adobe reader, to allow WE to open an email attachment, Each time I
need to open a pdf document from my email.

This is a real pain.

Is there a way to tell Outlook enhanced that word is going to open the pdf
document? Or is there a way to make the choice on a case by case basis like
I can in windows explorer?

With word defaulted as the program to open the file I can't even save it
some ware else to open as I choose.

I can't simply turn off the app because without the app I can't reach the
attachment at all.

Thank you

Shannon
