I paucit that the word "free" is always misused amongst the blind. In truth, Facebook is NOT FREE!! Companies that advertise on it are part of the reasons why you and I can contend that Facebook is "free". Wait for a brief moment, let the advertisers pull the plugs and see if Facebook will not charge a fee. Same goes for Google, Yahoo and other companies that are similarly situated.
In my industry, software costs range from $5,000 to $7,500. Not a joke, it's a true fact!! None of these software by the way are accessible. If I choose to use the online versions of the software available in my industry, monthly costs range from $689 to nearly $750. I chose not to purchase Social Eyes because I can get to Facebook using Skype and send and receive messages wiht barely any hassles. Gracious thanks to those who took the time to write working scripts for Skype! If SocialEyes fits the bill, run with it!! If not, go fish in some other waters!! To suggest that GW Micro is "stealing from the blind" by charging for SocialEyes is, in my mind, analogous to telling WalMart that the produce on its shelves should be free. Go into business for yourselves and you'll probably have a clear understanding of what it entails to stay afloat and keep the doors open. My landlord raises my company's rent every September an has done so for nearly six years now. He's getting ready to raise it again in September 2014 when my present lease contract expires. But a customer who has no idea what issues I am grappling with will walk up to the checkout counter and question why I raised my prices by 80 cents. I let such a customer know that my rent is not free, electric and phone bills are not free, suppliers do raise prices, FedEx, UPS and USPS raise their rates; Besides these, there are wages and government statutory fees to be paid. The new Affordable Care Act, as well as various mandatory posters required under federal law are not free. Business owners do not just sit back and elect to "steal" from their customer base. They provide a service and unless you're in their shoes, you'll never know how many balls they juggle around on a daily basis to make things work just right.
