Chris, Try to set in the exception dictionary a11y without the # sign.
Else you can download the extended dictionary app. This enhanced the normal exception dictionary a lot. It will make a dictionary that has to be original in Window-Eyes in my opignion. You have to use notepad to fill in your dictionary and it will convert your exception dictionary to the new one.
