Ah, okay, Brendon. Now I see what you're saying.
However, at least on my system, it's not really a problem. When it's
lost focus I hear: Next result, instead of Next result button. And if I
Tab once I'm in the list of all results. Conversely, if I Shift-Tab once
to the Previous result button and then Tab back to the Next result
button it works fine. So it's somehow getting the label of the next
result button but not putting focus on it.
So, given the list, I'm not sure why I would ever want to do anything
other than look in that list because I see all of the results in
context, which will allow me to select and go to the exact result I'm
looking for.
But you're right. This is a bug, although certainly not one that
disables the find function in any real way. At least none that I can see.
Nonetheless I'll put a word in on it anyway.

I'm not sure if Richard's post on the different Outlook find command and
the Window-Eyes mouse find commands are what you were looking for. But
here's what I did in Word.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say after two searches. I just did
multiple searches in Word, opening and closing the find dialog, and
doing more than one search without closing the dialog. They all worked.
And I didn't lose speech or the ability to navigate the find dialog.
The Read active window hot key does read more than the find dialog. So
it's not of much help. But just tabbing around speaks everything anyway.

If the search term is not found you will hear either nothing or search
the document and the text you entered. If it is found you will hear Next
search button and be placed on that button.
Pressing escape will put you on the text you searched for.
But if you tab down you will be put in a list of all occurrences of the
word or phrase you searched for, showing them in context. Select from
that list and press enter on the one you want to go to and then press
escape to go to it.
If you don't see that list, Shift-Tab until you land on a set of tab
controls and make sure that the Browse the results from your current
search is the active tab.
