Hi Barbara,
Do you remember which set files had been associated with Media Center?
I would be inclined to use Windows Media Player set files.

Hello Everyone,
I have Windows 7 and WE 8.4.
I have Windows media center installed and use it from time to time. I
used it several months ago without an issue. Today when I tried, I
have a big problem with the Guide. I open the guide and can arrow to
the left to read the list of channels. When I arrow to the right to
the next cell I only hear the word cell and not the name of the
program for the time slot. I tried with both my desktop and laptop
computer with the same result. I did reboot and tried again without
success. If I cannot read the guide, it is a big issue in selecting
to record.
The only thing I did was install the latest update of Window Eyes
going from 8.1 I think to 8.4. I cannot see how this would cause an
issue. I have not updated media center. Right now I do get a prompt
for a media center update, but I am planning to try to get this to
work first. The rest of the media center buttons seems to work like
they have in the past.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Barbara
