Hello Wendy, could Window-Eyes or another programme be muted in the adjust
system volume settings? You may wish to get sighted assistance to help you
with this. Also, have you tried loading up Narrator instead of NVDA to try
and help diagnose the problem? Just press control escape, type narrator and
press enter, and that should load it up.

Sometimes when I first boot up I get the Window-Eyes opening sound but no
speech. I have tried pressing control alt W to get it going but nothing
happens. I have also tried launching NVDA but it doesn't work either. All
I can do is press the power button on my computer to shut down and start
again. Can anyone suggest why this is happening?

Wendy
