I wanted to pass along an update on this topic. Our engineers have identified
what we think to be the cause of the problem. The cause appears to be related
to the type of BIOS software loaded on your system. Older systems use the
standard Basic Input/Output System (BIOS). Many newer systems are using
instead the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and UEFI is meant to
replace the BIOS firmware interface originally present in all PCs. UEFI is
preventing certain files from loading properly at startup and this is why
Window-Eyes is not able to read the UAC prompts. The solution to this problem
will be incorporated into Window-Eyes 9.

Thanks,
Marc
