Regarding accessibility issues, I can tell yu that Moodle is popular in the K-12 education world for writing curriculum and other such group-based tasks. Popularity in K-12 doesn't augur well as far as accessibility IMHO, but maybe there's a way around their propensity to plan in pictures and justify with statistics. Good luck! --
