Actually, it can, though in Windows it's not as easy as on other
operating systems. I researched the same issue a few years ago and
stumbled on a program creatively called "Fat32Format." You can find a
direct download at
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5108743/fat32format.zip. Extract it
to an easy-to-locate directory on your PC, such as c:\fat32. Next, open
a command prompt, and issue the following commands:
cd c:\fat32
fat32 j:\ (assuming that for this example, your SD card is in drive J).
The format should take only a few seconds, and after that you can use
the larger capacity card in your media player of choice.
