It seems this has gotten way out-of-hand. When an organization which has
always been honorable gets the kind of criticism GW is getting, it must
be disheartening. Also, these posts are viewed by outsiders as well as
us, and there are legal issues GW could pursue, if they chose to, and if
they weren't the honorable people they've always been.
Also, software manufacturers don't have an obligation to tell us when
they will update. Anyone who's tried programming knows about the
gremlins that creep into programs. I'd rather wait and have a stable
product.
Yes, there are some issues with Window-Eyes, of course. It's a computer
program. Perfection is not on this earth. But we have to give them
credit for being a leader in the field, trying their best to give us
what we need, and let them do their jobs without hassle. Would you do
this to Microsoft? Their tech support is by the hour. GW is very
supportive.
Sorry to have blown off steam, but this has been bugging me for a while.
I hate to delete the thread in case I miss something, but I'm not
getting substantial payback.

make such an accusation is beyond stupid!!!!

I did not say that FS was behind the negative posts.. However,
anything is possible.
However, if you think that one business wouldn’t do something such as
post negative messages about a competitor, then you are very naive my
friend.

Thank you Peter. I couldn’t have said it better.
I am leaving your message here as some people need to read it again.
Some people just have too much time on their hands. They should use
the extra time to do something constructive instead of spreading these
unfounded and ignorant rumors.

Where does such harmful and stupid rumors come from?
Remember the best prediction of future performance is past performance.
Is FS (behind the sceens) fostering these wild accusations?
GW Micro has been above-board for about a quarter century now, so
what's the problem here?
Who is dumb enough to entertain the idea that Microsoft and AI Squared
would both embrace a product that is other than the best? What's
wrong with you folks? Where has your common sense gone to?
Here's my prediction: The next major release of Window-Eyes will
include a robust Browse Mode, support for the latest Access Technology
requirements for the Web, and, as usual, work seamlessly with many
more commercial programs.
As past history shows: Releases of JAWS are haphazard, no encompassing
overview of market trends. As published reports about Microsoft
indicate: Microsoft, with its new CEO, plans a vertical product line
concept: one operating system to work on all major platforms,
computers, tablets, mobile devices, and so on. I am sure that
Window-Eyes will head in that direction as well. The best is to come
from GW Micro and AI Squared!
Disclaimer: I don't work for either company, have no stock in either
company, have no "inside track" in either company, but I do have
common sense - which is apparently in short supply on this list recently.
Again, the best predictor of the future is past performance, and, as
most of you know, GW Micro has delivered top-notch products
consistently for a quarter century now.
So, less silly and harmful rhetoric, more common sense, and wait for
developments.
