I will use putty to tellnet and read line by line using mouse pointer
movements.
Maybe the screen is moving too fast or something is interfearing the screen
info.
I generally use putty to configure and talk to all my HP switches and also
some of my linux boxes.

The only thing I can say is I don't have experience with cisco vpn software,
I use aruba, watchguard and now moving towards sophos at this stage.

It could be the vpn connection is slow, client to firewall vpn connection is
generally slower in such instant. That's the limitation or restriction of a
firewall box or UTM. Or even limited by your internet connection. How much
the office or corperate network can upload the info to you is the key of all
vpn connection. Not the download.

I can go on, but its quite extensive to troubleshoot as it can be some
bottomnck somewhere as little as a switch or the trunk connection somewhere
or some routers configure or the device itself.

Subject: Any network gurus on this list?

I am tele-commuting from home. Using Windows 7, Window-Eyes 8.4, and
TeraTerm Pro.

Connecting to my employer via Cisco AnyConnect to the VPN. From there I use
Teraterm Pro to connect to two different hosts. With host 1, W. E. performs
well. I can open up a file using VI and use the up and down arrows to read
each line.
When I connect to the other host, W. E. does not seem to recognize the start
and end of a line of code on a screen. I arrow up and down and I am hearing
things from the top of the window. When I arrow to the right and hit the
end of the line, W. E. starts to read from the top of the window and seems
to want to "read to end".

I've played with Teraterm Pro scroll buffer settings, etc. but haven't hit
on the correct "fix" yet. I have Teraterm Pro set to have terminal size =
window size. My boss is wondering if it is networking problems.

As a test, I took the Windows 7 machine to one of our office buildings and
connected to host 2 from there. W. E. behaved much better.

Anybody got any ideas why W. E. and TeratermPro "plays nice" with host 1 and
not host 2 when I am connected to the VPN from home? My employer is not
going to spend lots of time and resources tracking this down for just little
ol' me. Seems that something is different about the set up of host1 and host
2, but, this is way outside of my knowledge.
