Maybe you don't understand why some people want to have as little
chatter in their ears, long as they non-mistakably knows and are fully
aware what they are doing. And likely many will be with you, just as
much as many are with the others. That is why all we call for, is that
it at least should be possible for the user to turn this extra verbage
on and off.

Re: we 9 now saying, window, task switching.

Hi,

Reporting that you are in the task switching list in my view is not
point list. If I press alt+t for example while in an open file dialog
I know that it is going to take me to the files type list box. I
know this, but I still want to hear the name of the list box I am
in. I know that pressing alt+tab is going to take me to the task
switching list box. So why shouldn’t the task switching list act
like all other lists? Doesn’t this provide consistency. It is a list
accessed in a different manor yes, but a list none the less. I
expect to get the list index count as I move from item to item in a
list box. Considering the fact that the task switching list is a
list box why wouldn’t I expect to get that same information in this
list as well. Doesn’t this provide for a consistent interface? I am
not understanding why the task switching list is not being treated as
any other list. I am also not understanding why you would want it to
be so. Please explain.

Thanks

That's my point. Get rid of the Task Switching comment altogether,
something which I have talked about before. Just have the list like
Jim was describing before so peple know how many icons are on the
screen they are switching to. But there's never been a point in the
task switching thing, it's just something I try to ignore. Hence,
saying, window, task switching, it also pointless.

I have to respectfully disagree. If I’m alt-tabbing, by
definition, I’m task switching. I was perfectly happy never
hearing “task switching”. If there was a way to make this an
option to turn on or off, fine, but to me it’s just extra verbeage.

Yeah, what Jim said. copy the way that narrator reads the icons and
tells you how many you have open, I think that would be a great
    feature
    to have.

your task switching. What are you in? a window. What should
window-eyes tell you. Well that you are task switching and the
name of the task you are switching to. The problem with this is
that the feedback is not consistent. The problem is also that you
    don't get an index count.

list box. goldWave 1 of 3. Inbox Microsoft outlook 2 of 3.
Desktop 3 of 3. Note so window-eyes tells me that I am in the
task switching list the first time I press alt+tab. If I keep
holding down the alt key I have not left the list so it just
reports the name and index of the task I am switching to. Then of
course when I let go of the alt key I am placed in that program I
    have just switched to.
