Also, I would turn on key describer mode (insert-1) and press the alt-a key to 
see if any speech happens for it.  If so, then it’s being used by some other 
app or hotkey assignment for something else.

Do you have any toolbars installed? This could be slowing down Ie? Control 
Panel, Programs and Features, uninstall a program, bring up the search box with 
backspace. See if this resolves this issue for you. Also make sure that all 
Windows updates and IE updates are installed on your system.

Hi.

This started happening with IE version 11 using WE version 8, and it is still 
in the new beta.  When I press Alt-A to save a page as a bookmark, WE goes 
silent for nearly a full minute, and then it starts to speak.  Does anyone else 
have this problem?
