Next question ... how do I add a script to the global scripts list?  I'm
seeing no "load" button ...

Just open the application you're creating a script for; given that you've at

least created an initial script file. Now open Script Manager, select 
display scripts by application. You should now see scripts for the 
application you're in, which will be none. Select your script and use the 
Load button to load and associate the script.
