Aaron and others,
Well, I found the answer to part of my first question.
The shared object MessageBox is not maximized by default. With XP machines,
the mesageBox in the DailyBlessings script will be maximized only if Jamal's
WindowMaximizer script is running. Until I can figure out how to do this, I
recommend having the WindowMaximizer script installed with the DailyBlessing
Script. The WindowMaximizer script is a good one to have installed in any event.
Can some one explain how to maximize the messageBox shared object?
I still don't have a clue why the messages will not speak on my vista home
basic machine.
When the hotkey is pressed, the first message usually does speak. When the
next or previous buttons are pressed, the buttons speak but not the message. I
can make the message speak with control-shift-w, and I verified that the
message is all there and is maximized, but it just won't speak when it pops up.
It is maximized on the vista machine with Jamal's WindowMaximizer script
running also.
Any additional comments and help welcome.

Subject: DailyBlessings script--trouble with messageBox
I have been noticing some problems with the shared object from the toolkit
which produces the messagebox. The DailyBlessings script displays a good bit
of text with each message posted to the screen.
With Windows XP Pro at work, the messageBox seems to display just fine.
With Windows xp home basic-at least on one computer-the messagebox displays a
truncated version of the text. I also see when I hit the control-shift-T that
the messageBox is not maximized like it is on my work computer.
With Vista home basic, SP2, the messageBox is maximized, but very often the
message will not speak when the box pops up. I can press control-shift-W to
read the message and it seems to display the entire message and the messageBox
is maximized.
I have some questions:
First, why does the shared object messageBox act differently with these
different windows versions?
Second, is there something I can do to make the messageBox always speak its
text when it pops up?
Third, is there a way to give a script command to maximize the messageBox
before it pops up?
Comments and suggestions would be welcome!
Thanks,
Jeff Weiss
