My mistake. So, have to tab over to the button instead of doing a short-cut. I almost have the Coocoo Clock done. Was just trying different options for setting the sleep and wake up time and went back to edit boxes for it. In 12 hour format it will also pop-up the radio buttons for am and pm so no fancy numbering has to be used for morning and afternoon times. Will have different Coocoo clock sounds to choose from for the wake-up and probably for the quarterly hour times...and half hour times. Like the coocoo clock bird instead of the chime cut in half... The wake up could have a fire siren, which is used for the noon whistle and such in some cities and towns. Many choices and it is taking some time because of the hours I put in and like you had, sleep issues some times. At the moment the clock has on/off, silence and wakeup, chimes and/or voices, coocoo clock, siren, and many other sounds. It can be set for hour, half hour and even quarter hour. The wake-up can be used as a single time alert sound, like quitting time? Or maybe time to go and eat? Then I will deal with the upload of the monster. any other suggestions I welcome. Bruce Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2011 4:34 PM Subject: RE: problems with app manager Bruce, just remember, if your "display" radio button in app manager is set to "all apps" by name or by program, then you will not have the choice for loading an app, and the hotkey will do nothing. that's obviously not Jeff's issue, but could it be yours? nothing at all is happening when you use the hotkey for loading an app? if so, tab over and see if the load command button is disabled, and then see what your display is set to. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: BT [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2011 2:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: problems with app manager Hi Jeff, I to have noticed the same problem. In fact when doing the Load App feature does not even work any more. I get nothing when using that hot key. All I can say is that it use to work, but not any more! Bruce Sent: Wednesday, May 04, 2011 10:29 AM Subject: problems with app manager I am continuing to have problems with App Manager. Using WE 7.5 windows xp pro sp3 Try this and see what happens: 1. Open App manager 2. Choose load 3. Type in an app name-I used the working version of the example from Chip's class 10 Which I called PopUpText 4. The app loaded fine for me. 5. Choose unload and unload the app. 6. Choose load again and load the same app. When I did this, the app manager appeared to hang the speech and finally the app appeared to be loaded--but it was not in the list. When I loaded it a second time, it loaded properly again. Also, as I reported before, when trying to load an app from a folder within my default folder, either by typing the name or by using the dialog to navigate to the file, there is a long delay, and then window-eyes reports file not found. I did switch to Eloquence instead of DecTalk and this seems to help reducing some of the long speech blackouts, but I think that we really have gone backwards with WE 7.5 as far as the App Manager, and the instability of the DecTalk synthesizer interface.
