Base Calendar Class

Hello,
I am new to scripting and I'm trying to learn by writing a VBScript 
app for calendars in general, and for a Gregorian Calendar in 
particular. I figured there surely is a base class for calendars from 
which all manner of calendars can be derived! When you consider that 
calendars are based on the astronomical events of rotation and 
orbits, you can see the advantages of a class.

So, where can I find such a class? If I can get the Gregorian one 
working, especially since there are already many such wheels already 
invented, I may branch out into other calendars.

I've looked at the CalculateDate app and can kinda sorta see what is 
going on, but I'm not familiar enough with the foundations and do not 
yet have the confidence to try anything ol' thing. Hence, my query.

thanks in advance for any pointers/references. I don't know if I'll 
have to dig into MicroSoft, GWMicro's tool kit, Homer's shared 
objects, or where.
