I did exactly the same thing (picking off horrid flowers) a couple of months ago. The final result was a whole ziploc bag full of little black linen flowers, which I passed on to a friend, who can actually *do* something with them, and a bolt of perfectly nice, medium-weight, white linen. Cost? Less than $2/yd (on sale at JoAnn's) Satisfaction? Priceless..... --Sue, who doesn't have a dress dummy, but if I did, she'd probably be wearing cat hairs, since just about everything else in this house does as well.
