Why didnt I think of that?! Yes, Sutter's has absolutely one of the
best re-enactment programs in the state. They do an awesome job. When
I was head of the volunteer assn at San Juan Bautista, the Sutter's
Fort team courteously hosted (and hostessed) 4 of us to a wonderful
"backstage" tour. They were very warm & sharing of all their info &
sources.

IIRC, One of the most interesting things they do is to all choose
exactly one day that they are recreating, so if it's really 30 Mar,
then it will be 30 Mar 1848. This means they're all talking about the
same local events, fashions, people, & world news as they speak to
visitors & each other. It's a great experience.

Actually, we are reenacting 1846, but we do try to keep to the calendar date. Thanks for the kind words.
