In the past I've thrown many of my white silk garments into the washing machine on the gentle cycle with regular laundry detergent and they've been fine. I recently used a different brand and when the blouses and sweaters came out of the machine they were a pale greenish-blue! The other clothes weren't affected so I'm thinking it's some chemical reaction between the protein fibers and something in the detergent...although I've washed white wool in this detergent and not had a problem.

Does anyone know what ingredient it might be so I can avoid it and more importantly, what I can do to un-color it? I know bleach is NOT the answer.

thanks,
lisa
