I corrode nickel-plated needles as well - sharps, betweens, or tapestry
needles. I buy gold plated needles whenever I find them. I got a bunch of them
last Christmas in a set from Jo-Ann's. There was a pair of stork scissors, a
tape measure, a gold plated thimble, and gold plated needles. I've got enough
to last me for several years. :-)
