I am making a Waffenrock, similar to the yellow or black one in this detail.
But I want to make a hat similar to the green one on the right. I don't want
all the dags 'n stuff, I just wanted to make a relatively simple chaperon. But
after thinking about it, it seemed chronologically out of place - I think of
them as being more a "Medieval" thing.
Anyone know how long they were worn?

In case you are interested: I don't know if you can see it, but the man on the
left (black outfit) has what looks like a removable Goller over his Waffenrock.
