Can you give a minimum size of what you think a large-enough swatch would be for this?


If it were me, I'd use a square foot *minimum* -- a square yard would be better if you can manage it. If the shape remains relatively even and smooth, you can either cut smaller pattern pieces from it, or use it to make a matching hat or mittens or both.
