Great, thanks for all of your feedback!
I also prefer to bash out wireframes and specific feature details before
starting on a design, but I guess I'm so used to showing designs to clients
first!
I've had some various ideas about how we can improve the interactivity and
sense of community on the site, I've listed them briefly below:
- Better and more feedback from users/developers:
- A feedback button in the admin panel that sends anonymous
notifications somewhere... for developers to check out? Maybe
post them to a
public forum, and each feedback report is added as an item on
the thread?...
Just an idea.
- Surveys/polls to gain feedback that can be counted from the
community - then everybody feels they will have a say in the
future of the
project
- Extensions repository to hold downloads and information for plugins and
themes - already discussed
- Have user accounts on the Habari site, integrated with Trac, MediaWiki
and the forums
- Create a 'Habari Profile' for each user, which displays recent forum
posts, wiki edits, trac activity and extensions created by that user
- Integrate this somehow with IRC online status
- Can we parse Google Groups RSS/Atom feeds to show recent replies a
user has made to the mailing lists?
- Give users badges to inspire contributions
Just some ideas that have been in my head and discussed in IRC.
