We want to provide a generic API to a variety of filesystems, a
common-denominator. If some features are not implemented by some filesystems,
then they can be faked (e.g., all s3 files could have the same owner until our
s3 implementation supports owners). We shouldn't add creation and modified
dates just to HDFS, but rather to FileStatus, then extend the HDFS,
LocalFileSystem, etc. implementations to support these. Does that make sense?
Also, this does not permit HDFS from adding HDFS-specific features to
DFSFileInfo. Folks can still downcast and get at implementation-specific
features. But such features cannot be used in FileSystem-independent code, so
we should reserve that for things that really are specific to HDFS and would
not make sense with another filesystem.
